A Guest Review Of The Panache Porcelain Body By Kate Nolan

30 Jan

I’ve always been a little curious about bra bodies, and so I enlisted the help of a friend to write a review of hers…

Hello lovely readers of FFFB!

A little while ago I purchased the Panache Porcelain body in 30G. George kindly gave me the amazing opportunity to review it for her.

Overall, sadly, I think it was distinctly average. The bra part of the contraption fit okay, but not perfectly and it only really held in my flab a tiny bit. 1

I found that my torso seemed to be somewhat too long for it, for example, if I pulled the bra up to where I would be happy wearing it, then I got a major wedgie and everything seemed stretched. Besides that it didn’t stay there and I was constantly pulling it up. If I left the bra where it sat naturally, there was folding in the bottom of the cups under my boobs. My boobs weren’t at all supported. This problem was rectified by using the straps included with it, but the reason I bought it was to use it for a strapless dress. 6

Also, weirdly, I seemed to have a weird back fat situation where the back band of the bra pushed my back fat down but the body pushed my back fat up resulting in a back-fat-flap. Most uncool.

The material used was really silky and super comfortable, but not as firm as I was hoping for; I wanted something to hold me in but I found it just altered my shape slightly. I don’t often wear shapewear so I’m not an expert and maybe I had far too high expectations, but I found it did very little for making my flab less flabby. I constantly tell my ribcage off for needing protective fat because I hate the bulge underneath my bra. I hoped that because this was a bra combined with something intended to disguise reality, that maybe I wouldn’t get an under-bra-band-bulge. I was not to be.

And also, maybe I’m nit-picking, but the cup kept denting in the middle. It was even noticeable under my dress.

On a more positive note, the band was firm and cup true to size. However, sadly the cons outweighed the pros and my quest for the perfect bra body continues!

Thanks for reading!  Please let me know if you are a fan of bra bodies and which ones you have tried.

Falling In And Out Of Love With Vivien

5 Oct

I have been aware of Vivien of Holloway for some time now, particularly because several busty friend of mine find their dresses to be a fabulous fit – Sophia Jenner being one of them. And as I am a theatre geek I really loved this dress and finally took the plunge to order it in a 46inch bust recently, hoping that my 48inch bust would fit into it and I could make it into a strappy dress rather than a halterneck one.

When it arrived I was instantly mesmerised by the luxurious fabric and exquisite eye-popping design. However, I was quickly disappointed to see that the halterneck was a loop style one, not a tie up one, clearly overlooked by me in my internet shopping flurry and therefore making it impossible to adjust into straps like I had done here. I took some photos and showed some friends, talking of how I would have to return it as although my strapless deco worked well under it the neck felt too high.
I also felt that it bunched up over my waist and made me look larger than usual. What good friends I have – they pointed out how such a busy design didn’t need the added distraction of killer cleavage, how my strapless bra was doing an incredible job and how a dress with so many colours would look incredible with so many different accessories. And so I tried it back on and well, I have to say the dress will be staying! I just feel amazing in it and yes, it’s not my usual style but it’s good to be different and give all those colourful shoes of mine an airing!

…I wore it out the other night! Here is how it looked:

My Review Of The ‘Naturally Close’ Strapless Bra By Simply Yours

30 Sep

Simply Yours have recently released the world’s largest strapless bra that goes all the way to a K cup – the Naturally Close Multiway Bra.
Inspired by my fellow blogger Cheryl I decided to give it a go in my ‘upper’ size of 36H, as she warned me that it came up quite snug in the band and fairly true in the cup.

As you can see the bra is not the best with the straps on as it seemed to pull the underwire away from my chest, despite it being perfectly snug and amazing supportive with its 5 hooks and eyes! It also seemed to push down onto my breast which gave me that double boob effect.
However, as you can see without the straps it gives me a fairly good supported shape. My boobs are slightly conical but they are in place and I felt very secure.
I think that the pattern is very pretty but not overly practical as it would show up quite a lot under tight fitted tops and dresses. I tried it on under a dress and compared with a normal bra you can see that my breasts do look a bit droopier and pointier and slightly spaced apart:

This bra would not be one that I would personally feel comfortable wearing with a strapless outfit, but more for under halternecks where you have added support but don’t want your straps to be visible. The shape and support are spot on for me as I have given up hope of finding a bra that can give me my much coveted rounded cleavagey shape, but for women who are used to non padded bras I think that this would be a fantastic bra as the shape is not too dissimilar to how my breasts look in a non padded bra.

I would give this bra 4.5/5, that .5 taken away due to the lumpy pattern which I think may cause a problem for some depending on the outfit.

Very well done Simply Yours.
